Thursday - back to Tokyo

We packed up in Kyoto in the late morning and cabbed to the Shinkansen to get to Tokyo. Our main goal was to check into our apartment in Shinjuku, Tokyo, with enough time to get to the Giants game.

While we were finishing up in Kyoto and getting to the baseball game, Jamie was was warming up before a gig with old friends!

The Giants game in Tokyo was a BLAST! The game itself was amazing .. they were playing their local rivals, the Hanshin Tigers, and it was a close, dramatic game. The Giants were loosing for most of the game, came back to tie it at the end, and then pulled it out in extras.

Beyond the game itself, the energy and coordinated chanting and pulse of the stadium was a thrill to be a part of. It was a completely unique cultural experience. The Japanese do not do anything half way. The kids were fully loaded up to support our Giants brethren in Japan, even getting into it with some Lions supporters seated nearby. We got a bit intense at times, but ended up making friends by the end of the evening.
Give yourself a tour through some of the audio and video in particular, as still images don't do the scene justice. For the video, remember to request a high quality stream.
